2020 Audiobook Challenge Recap

Audiobook-2020.jpg

This is the 4th year in a row that I’ve participated in this challenge. In 2017, I was still very hesitant to even try audiobooks, but then my friend Sarah finally convinced me to give it a try and I subsequently found this “reading” challenge. Since I’m super competitive, I figured it was the best way to get me motivated to not only read (Ok, listen) to more audiobooks, but also challenge myself to try beating my own progress from previous years. Read on for more details!

Purpose/Goal:
The goal of the challenge is to find a new love for audiobooks, and/or to try to outdo yourself by listening to more audiobooks this year than in the previous year.

Rules:
The books need to be in audio format, any genre, and rereads and crossovers with other challenges count.

Achievement Levels:
There are 8 total levels that one can achieve based on the number of books listened to:

  1. Newbie (1-5)

  2. Weekend Warrior (5-10)

  3. Stenographer (10-15)

  4. Socially Awkward (15-20)

  5. Binge Listener (20-30) - 2019 Goal of 25

  6. My Precious! (30+) - 2019 level achieved with 34 so I made my 2020 goal to be 30 books. I reached this goal in June, so I upped it to 75!

  7. Marathoner (50+) - 2020 level achieved with 76 total books listened to!

  8. The 100 Club (100+)
